So he pulls an alternating-current taser on me and tells me that only the Official Serbian Church of Tesla can save my polyphase intrinsic electric field, known to non-engineers as “the soul.”

So I hit him. What would you do?
Quebec-born creator Guy Delisle, author of the book Chroniques de Jérusalem, has been announced as the winner of the gold medal at the Angoulême International Comics Festival. The prestigious festival is actually one of the largest comic conventions in the world.
Guy Delisle is best known for crafting intimate travelogues that disarm their serious nature with simple and honest humour. Shenzen (2000) and Pyongyang (2003) were examinations of life in North Korea, and Burma (2007) focused on the titular country. Winning the award for Best Graphic Album is a big step for Delisle, whose work beat out 57 graphic novels published between December 2010 and November 2011. The book is published by Éditions Delcourt in France, and will be published by Drawn & Quarterly in Canada this coming Spring.
